HARVERTA / TURNKEY SOLUTIONS

Vertical farming systems and facility installation

Make use of space across multiple tiers, not just the floor. Harverta designs indoor growing infrastructure alongside light, climate, water and daily workflows.

What is vertical farming?

Vertical farming grows crops on stacked growing tiers. Indoor facilities manage growing conditions with LED lighting and climate control. Vertical layouts and hydroponics are different concepts: one describes the use of space, the other how roots receive water and nutrients. They can be combined in one facility.

Coordinated growing tiers

Rack dimensions and tier count depend on clear ceiling height, plant development, lighting distance and maintenance access. We assess not only growing surfaces, but also aisles, harvesting flows, cleaning access and equipment servicing needs.

LED, climate and water in one production plan

Lighting is considered alongside spectrum, intensity, daily duration and heat load. Temperature, humidity and air movement are planned around the target crop. Hydroponic design includes water quality, pH, electrical conductivity and return-circuit monitoring.

Which crops can be considered?

Leafy greens, herbs such as basil, microgreens and seedlings can be considered in an initial assessment. Cultivars differ in growth cycles, light requirements, packaging and sales channels. Standard yield or profitability should not be assumed before crop trials and commercial feasibility are completed.

What information is needed before investment?

Location, usable net area and height, electrical capacity, water analysis, target crop and weekly sales demand are key inputs. Pilot production and commercial facilities are assessed at different scales. Energy, consumables, maintenance and labour are considered alongside the installation budget.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum area for a vertical farm?

There is no single standard area. The appropriate scale is determined by assessing pilot or commercial goals, clear height, infrastructure and operational needs together.

Can every crop be grown vertically?

Crops do not share the same technical and economic conditions. Cultivar, light needs, growth cycle and sales channel should be assessed before facility design.
